Transformers- Battle for the Universe

Transformers- Perhaps the coolest toys ever to be invented, are now sweetly available on DVD. Yes, I proudly own season 1 and half of season 2. What made the toys so great? They were made of metal and clearly designed before toys were required to be safe. You just can't find that quality any more. Plastic toys were whimpy and breakable. Metal toys were strong and dangerous. But it's more than just my personal risk to safety which makes Transformers so appealing, it's the... uhh, the series was cool! Oh how I love reliving the lost glory of my youth.

The Luv Bug

What the hell is this thing? I call it luv bug, but it seems like some twisted Japanese animators attempt at making flying bat-kittens more friendly! I really can't tell if this thing would fly towards me and hug me or bite me. And then it was too late,...the bat-kitten had lured him with his charming symbol of love before devouring him whole.

Ever wondered...

Have you ever wondered it you had an inbred half-brother out there roaming the world. I have. If he exists, I imagine he looks something like this.

Truely a Classic

The Blues Brothers is perhaps the greatest movies of all times. Why? Can you say 48 car crashes and a plot which revolves around getting the band back together. So cool!

Dragonboat Update: Lachine

PADDLE DEMONS LOG:
Last week was racing in Lachine Montreal. The event is always a good one but flipin' hot this year (please mind the foul language,...I've been excitable of late). Anyways, we got it together as the day went on and managed to beat out Point Claire Canoe Club in the D Sport Division final. Yes, yes, D sounds like a lowly division or the mark of someone who didn't regualarly show up to class, however, the days competition was incrediby stiff. I think if we're going to continue making gains we need to get bigger,...stronger,...and possibly live every day of life as if we were in a musical. That would scare the pants of anyone,...including the other teams.

Ottawa- Refreshingly Canadian

Ottawa- I was driving by the hill the other week, not an uncommon event for anyone living in the Nation's Capital. The Parliment buildings stood proud and tall, a symbol of our unity. The weathered copper rooves, beaten, as if by the very history of Canada.

This was all very well and to be expected, but then I noticed a truely Canadian feature of parliment. The fact that someone had assembled a pickup game of ultimate frizbee and was playing on our fair lawns.

I can remember once being yelled at by Lawn bowlers for getting too close to their precious lawns, but the fact that our government doesn't care if boysterous youth run around in their front yard is very cool. Hockey would have been even cooler but that might be pushing it, particularly in the summer.

The New Musak

After a mere 8 years in the making, finally, the music behind my new CD intitled "The Sad Truth About Beauty" is ready. Yes, yes, the title is a little over philosophical but so is rasberry jam if you look closely enough. Anyways, the cover art is in it's final stage of production. I call this stage "Ignatious IV". The musak itself is a lot more mellow than I originally thought. I'd even say it's kind of laid back. Who would have thought I'd unintentionally give my grunge roots the slip. Anyways, real life beckons. Until next time,...
